The task of ground leveling and fencing for the construction of a regional international airport in the western Nepali city Pokhara will be completed within the current fiscal.
The airport will be the second international airport in Nepal after Tribhuwan International Airport in the capital Kathmandu.
According to Monday’s myrepublica.com report, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has directed the high-level committee formed for the construction to complete the design of the strip area and runway of the airport within the current fiscal year.
Organizing a press meeting, the committee said the authority has released 1 million Nepali rupees (some 13,500 U.S. dollars) for engineering survey and detail design of the airport as well as to level the ground.
The authority has allocated 50 million rupees (some 675,675 dollars) for the airport construction.
